East Chop Capital is a multi-asset private equity firm established in 2018, with a hybrid focus on real estate development, angel investing, and private equity, with $50 million in assets under management (AUM). Via syndications, we have also invested in Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey, CT United FC, Seven Seven Six Fund I, Rockbridge Capital Fund IX, Brolly Africa, Advest Financial Real Estate Debt Fund, Cyphr, Partake Foods, Hell's Kitchen on Broadway, with other deals currently in due diligence.

Carrington McKinley Carter is a serial entrepreneur, real estate developer, private equity and angel investor, and a wealth strategist who is passionate about building businesses, economic empowerment, wealth creation, and uplifting the community.
He is Co-founder & General Partner of East Chop Capital, a private equity firm with $50 million in assets under management. Its first two real estate funds are focused on the $114 billion global vacation rental market. With their network of nearly 250 investors, they have invested nearly $5 million in various deals across real estate, hospitality, technology, financial services, media, and sports.
Calvin L. Butts, Jr.

Calvin L. Butts Jr. a is dynamic leader making waves in the entrepreneurship and investing space. He is a catalyst for changing the way people invest, build companies, and create wealth.
As the Co-founder & General Partner of East Chop Capital, he leads a private equity firm that has grown a network of over 250 investors and oversees assets exceeding $50 million. While the assets under management are largely focused on real estate, the portfolio also includes deals spanning technology, media, hospitality and sports.
Zerik Scales
Managing Parter
Zerik Scales is an accomplished contractor, architect, artist, and designer. As Managing Partner, he focuses on design, development, and construction. He has a strong entrepreneurial spirit and has been a part of several successful start-up businesses including Reinhabit, Homestead, Inkwell, and creative real estate development studio Habitable Art. Since 2009, Zerik has personally worked on and completed 60+ single family home projects in the Los Angeles area, with a price range of $800,000 to $2.2 million, injecting millions of dollars into the local economy.
